From live music to lectures, and plays to poetry slams, there are countless ways that you can experience what makes Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ special and celebrate the achievements of our community, and the excitement of our local area. Here's our pick of seven things to do in the coming week.

See: Kate Tempest in National Portrait Gallery's collection

It's good news for Kate Tempest fans as her latest album is to be featured in . The photograph of the acclaimed poet and spoken word artist, who studied at the Department of English at Goldsmiths, was taken by Dav Stewart for her . 'Picture the Poet' is currently on display at , and will later be touring the country.

Watch: Tate Britain on Sarah Lucas

Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ alumna Sarah Lucas has been selected for this year's . Lucas, who graduated from Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ in 1987, represents Britain in the 56th year of the Biennale. Leading up to the exhibition, which starts on 9 May, explores Lucas' work and career in a #TateShots video.

It's worth paying a visit to the this weekend for the  featuring Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ alumna Evy Jokhova. Part of the inaugural , MAKE / CREATE brings together craft scholars and fine artists to collaboratively explore the nature of craft. It closes on Sunday so you've got to be quick!

Theatre company Snippet made their debut at the earlier this month with ‘Known’, a play about how a society reacts to the murder of a young woman. Snippet is a current Entrepreneurs in Residence group at Goldsmiths. Described as 'a poignant, important, and stylistically exquisite performance', . 

Hack: the future of work

What kind of future to you want to be a part of?MA Digital Media alumna Sophie Uesson is asking this very question by running a hackathon for young creatives at . Spend: an Evening with Lucian Freud

Second yearBA Fine Artstudent Lily German is the set designer for 'An Evening with Lucian Freud', a play based on a real life encounter with the artist. The play, at lounge, features only one woman (played by Cressida Bonas) - but with a lot of video cameos!
