CAS process for unconditional offer holders

Follow these steps to request a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) if you have an unconditional offer from Goldsmiths.

Primary page content

Step 1 - Accept your unconditional offer

You accept your unconditional offer to study with us. We can't issue you with a CAS unless you have an unconditional offer that you have accepted.

Once you have accepted your unconditional offer, we will send you a link to complete our CAS request form.

We usually start to send out CAS request forms around 3-4 months before your programme starts.

If you have received an unconditional offer from Goldsmiths and it is under 3 months before your course begins, but you are yet (or unable) to complete the CAS request form, please contact immigration@gold.ac.uk.

If you are unable to request a CAS by the deadline, please contact us. We may be able to consider your case exceptionally, but this does not guarantee we will be able to issue the CAS.

Step 2 - Complete the CAS request form and make a fee payment

Complete a CAS request form and submit it online.

Make a  £4000 advanced payment towards your tuition fees before your CAS can be issued. If you receive financial support from a university, school, government or international company (including an international organisation), then you are usually exempt from this payment.

As part of the CAS process, we may carry out additional checks to ensure that applicants meet UK visa requirements. This may include requesting further information about your academic background, work history or study plans.

If you will be under the age of 18 when you apply for your Student visa or when you start your studies in the UK, you will need to provide additional documents. Please see our page for applicants under the age of 18.

Step 3 - We review your CAS request

We will let you know if we need additional information.

CAS processing times can vary depending on the time of year and whether additional checks are required.

Step 4 - We let you know if you need to supply financial documents

Some students need to provide financial documents when applying for a student visa and if you do, we will request them from you as part of the CAS process.  We will then review them and provide advice to you.

Don't send us any financial documents unless we ask you for them.

If we do need to see financial documents, then we can only issue your CAS once the documents meet the visa requirements, and we will always help you to understand the requirements during the process.

Step 5 - CAS issued and you can apply for a Student visa

If we have everything we need and you meet the visa requirements, we will issue your CAS statement as soon as possible. Processing times may vary depending on the time of year.

When we issue a CAS, we will send you important guidance about the next steps in your Student visa application. It is very important to follow the instructions in your CAS email carefully.

Your immigration status will normally be issued as a digital eVisa, which you can access through your UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account.
